Following developing a successful consultancy business we have branched out into specialising in providing building services for the commercial and residential sectors, including refurbishment, new build and extensions.
Hallam Read Construction has a professional background and concentrates on making sure everything is very clear before we even start on site. This approach ensures there are no unexpected costs during and on completion of our projects.
Our site management team prides itself on being from a trade background, this invaluable level of experience has provided our clients with quality projects for the right price and on time. Following this reputation for quality we are developing long term relationships with a number of clients and architects throughout the country.

DESIGN & BUILD OF AN EXECUTIVE HOME

Location: Cossington, Leicester
Size: 5,500 ft2
Value: £1.1 Million
Project Detail: Design and build of a bespoke, highly specified, prestigious home.
This project was situated in a conservation area which attracted sensitive planning conditions and included the felling of protected trees, protection of newts and bat surveys.
The construction activities included concrete mini piles, reconstituted stone, under floor heating, smart power, data and server installation and a glass atrium providing natural lighting to the centre of the building.
The internal finishes were of a very high specification and standard, which included inbuilt wardrobes, a high end kitchen and individually designed bathrooms.
EXTENSION TO
EXISTING PROPERTY

Location: Rothley, Leicester
Size: 200 ft2
Value: £50,000
Project Detail: Large single storey extension with a 6m bi-folding aluminium door.
This project was won under a competitive tender and was awarded through Walters Architects in Leicester.
The project consisted on two frameless roof-lights, single-ply membrane roof and steels over 500kg in weight.
We worked within a live environment and ensured the property was separated from the building elements during the construction process.
RESIDENTIAL CONVERSION FROM OFFICE
Client: Richer Sounds
Location: London Road, Leicester
Size: 7 studios and 10 bed cluster flat
Value: £650,000
Project Detail: Conversion of an existing office block into residential units.
This project was won under a competitive tender and was awarded through Richer Sounds.
This project was built over the top of an existing retail unit (Richer Sounds) where we had daily liaison with the Store Manger to make sure their trade wasn’t affected.
The conversion took over 3 floors and included strip out of all existing walls and ceilings, replacement windows, re-rendered, new bitumen roof and a complete internal fit out to accommodate 7
studios and a 10 bedroom cluster flat.

APARTMENTS, 3 BEDROOM COACH HOUSE AND 2 BEDROOM BUNGALOW

Project Detail: Construction and conversion of a private development comprising of luxury apartments within an existing building, highly specified bespoke coach house and neighbouring bungalow, again to a high specification.
This project was carried out for a close client who we have built a relationship with and have numerous developments within the Midlands.
The project was focused upon refurbishing the existing charm of the building to optimise the value, appearance and charisma of the development.
LARGE EXTENSION TO A LISTED EXECUTIVE HOME

Project Detail: A prestigious extension to an executive home using tailored copper cladding. The extension was built upon a timber structure and the project focused upon keeping the character and charm of the building.
Highly specified internal finish and kitchen design gave the extension a fitting contemporary feel throughout, aided by the appeal of the copper cladding.
The overall finish of the extension, with the 3 panel bi-fold door, allows the living area within to fuse with the outdoor space creating a fantastic asset to this already impressive home.

Project Detail: The construction of 5 new individually designed large dwellings to a high end bespoke specification. Two dwellings to be curved roof steel framed buildings with three large
dwellings of traditional build all with large curtain glazing and bespoke interiors.
This project was won on a competitive tender with a new client with ongoing projects obtained on a repeat business basis.
This project is currently on site and involves continued liaising with the client and the local community to ensure the scheme meets everyone’s needs.

Project Detail: Conversion of an existing public house into two executive homes and the construction of six new individually designed properties.
This project was negotiated with an existing client on a repeat business basis.
This bespoke project is currently on site and involves continued liaising with the local community and working with the new landlord of the converted public house.
